Both methods make good hash. Machines give you consistency and save your shoulders; hand washing gives you feel and lower startup cost. The 'hand wash is gentler and higher quality' claim you'll hear on forums is mostly folklore — controlled comparisons are scarce, and the biggest quality variables are starting material, water temperature, and freshness of the plant, not whether a paddle is powered by a motor or your arm. Pick the method that lets you work fast and cold.
What it is
Ice water hash ("bubble hash") is made by agitating cannabis in ice-cold water so that the glandular trichomes — where most cannabinoids and terpenes live — break off the plant and get caught in a stack of graduated micron filter bags [1][2].

- Hand washing: stirring the ice/water/plant slurry in a bucket, vessel, or lined bag with a paddle, spoon, or by hand.

2. Load
